About Emily Carr PS
Emily Carr Public School opened in September 2008. It is a K-8 school of approximately 800 students and 70 staff located in North Oakville. It is named after Emily Carr, a Canadian painter and writer. Emily Carr's work was inspired by the indigenous peoples of the Pacific Coast and Canadian nature and habitat. Her work received widespread recognition across Canada for its passion and self-expression. Emily Carr overcame overwhelming obstacles that faced women of her day to be recognized as one of Canada's most famous artists.
Our school community is represented by over 60 different countries and the foundation of the work we do is based upon the TRIBES philosophy of building community and working together.
