Multi Year Plan
A message from our Chair and the Director of EducationDear Halton District School Board students, families, staff, and community members,
We are asking for your help in the creation of our next Multi-Year Plan! The HDSB has a multi-year strategic plan (known as our Multi-Year Plan or MYP) that guides our collective actions and decision making as an organization to ensure we are always focused on providing a high standard of education for students. We are currently in the last year of our current MYP, and are starting the development of our next four-year plan which will take effect September 2020. This will include opportunities for face-to-face input at two large community sessions as well as online surveys designed specifically for students, staff, parents/guardians and community members. These consultations will take place during November and the data collected will be used in the development of the plan over the next three to four months. We are asking for your help in sharing your views on our current plan and identifying areas we should focus on in the new plan. The online surveys will be available on the Board website from Nov. 4 - Dec. 2, 2019. Two Community Roundtable Discussions will take place in the North and South areas of Halton on: Monday, Nov. 18, 2019 from 7 - 9 p.m. at the Milton Staff Learning Centre(215 Ontario St S, Milton)Thursday, Nov. 21, 2019 from 7 - 9 p.m. at Garth Webb Secondary School (2820 WestOak Trails Blvd, Oakville)We look forward to your participation in helping to shape the next four years in the Halton District School Board!

Lunch Program 2019-20
Given the great success of our LunchBox Program last school year we are continuing with this option for families. Based on feedback from students, we have made some adjustments to the menu options. For families new to the LunchBox Program, this is an opportunity for parents to purchase lunch for their child every day of the week starting mid-October. To register, families will need to go to www.lunchboxorders.com. We are continuing to have Domino’s pizza each Monday starting Monday, October 21st. Every Tuesday through Friday, the LUNCHBOX Program will provide the opportunity for parents to purchase lunch for their child from Subway (on Tuesday), Lunch Lady (on Wednesday), Harvey's (on Thursday) and Boston Pizza (on Friday).
Order forms for Pizza Days will be available through SchoolCash Online starting mid-September. If you have not yet registered for SchoolCash Online, please do so as soon as possible at https://hdsb/schoolcashonline.com/ and select “Get Started Today”.
Order forms for the LUNCHBOX Program will be available only online starting October 1st.
All monies raised through the Lunch Program will be used to support student learning/school enhancements at Emily Carr P.S. Thank you for your continued support!
Prevalent Medical Conditions
Earlier this year, the Ministry of Education released Policy Program Memorandum 161: Supporting Students with Prevalent Medical Conditions. School Boards across Ontario are expected to implement PPM 161 by September 2018. As a result, the HDSB has updated several Administrative Procedures to better support students who have Anaphylaxis, Asthma, Diabetes, Epilepsy and Seizure Disorders. With the revised HDSB procedures, students who have any of the listed prevalent medical conditions, must have a Plan of Care in place. Furthermore, the Plan of Care must be co-created by the student, parent and school staff.
If your child has a prevalent medical condition, please access the new Plan of Care documents at the hyperlinks below
